Bulk Ingredient Handling and Weighing Systems
Bulk ingredients carry the volume of your production: flour above all, plus other large dry ingredients moving from silo to mixer. Bulk flour handling is the backbone of the line. When that flow runs loose, the cost shows up everywhere. Dust gets into the plant, weights drift off target, operators do heavy manual work, and open handling invites contamination.
A bulk ingredient handling system stores, moves, weighs, and doses those large dry ingredients in one controlled flow. Spiromatic runs that flow closed and food-grade, from the silo through to the mixer, so the bulk of your production stays clean and accurate.
What bulk ingredient handling covers
Spiromatic builds bulk ingredient weighing stations in high-quality stainless steel, made to your volumes and built for hygienic, hard-wearing handling of dry bulk. To work with pneumatic conveying, the stations are pressure-tight, for both pressure and vacuum systems. The extraction is matched to the product and the conveying method, so each station suits its job.
The stations connect to your existing silos, conveying lines, and mixers, and can take pre-weighed minor ingredients, so bulk and minor dosing run together. Because bulk handling delivers flour straight to the mixer, it pairs with flour cooling to hold dough temperature in check.
Food grade and hygienic by design
The stainless steel keeps the process food-grade, and hygiene runs through every weighing station, with accurate dosing throughout.
Dust control is built in. Stations can carry filtration, and the filters are cleaned with compressed air to keep them working. For hygienic mixing, a station can take a mixer bowl lid that connects to the weigh station and to other automated systems, such as liquid and micro-ingredient dosing. That bowl lid usually runs to a dedusting filter, so discharge stays clean and controlled with few airborne particles. The bowl lid is optional, and a direct connection to mixer lids is also possible.
What to look for when comparing ingredient handling equipment
Comparing bulk handling systems comes down to five things: weighing accuracy across your full range, food safety from stainless steel and hygienic design, fit with your existing systems, dust control through closed handling and filtration, and service over the long run.
Spiromatic is built on all five, with handling matched to your product and conveying method rather than a catalog unit off the shelf.
